I recently traveled to the East Cape in Baja for an awesome saltwater trip. I went with a buddy of mine Larry. We spent 3 days fishing for Roosters and Jack Crevelle in 23' pangas inshore. Larry being the more experienced saltwater fly angler did very well hooking and landing several nice Roosters. I managed to hook several but only landed 1 fish. But, I am hooked on this saltwater stuff. The fish strike hard, run far and put up a strong fight. We stayed at an awesome resort called Rancho Leonero. This place had great food, rooms and of course fishing. Our guide was Jeff deBrown from the Reel Baja. Jeff was very knowledgeable and worked very hard to get us hooked-up. Not many people traveling to Mexico with the Flu scare. Ironically, there are no cases of the flu in Baja! If you have ever wanted to try saltwater fly-fishing this is a great place to start.
