Lower Sac Day 1
Nice way to start the season with a 2 day float of the Lower Sacramento with my fishing buddy Larry and guide Gabe from the Clearwater lodge. Gabe got us into a number of nice fish today and he is an awesome guide. I had not fished in quite some time, but within 2 minutes after the start of the float I landed a 19 inch bow! The best fish of the day! Larry landed a number of nice fish as well. Beautiful day, lots of sun and nice scenery!
Day 2 tomorrow! Can't wait....

The Calm Before the Storm
I decided to get out and fish the Truckee today before the coming Winter Snow Storm. It was a beautiful day with sunny skies and the water was flowing @ 270 CFS. The big browns are out in force in the deep runs. At around 1:30 PM I hooked a really nice brown on a cream colored stone pattern. I did not know it a the time but he really swallowed the bug deep. It turned out to be a 18 inch beautiful fish and I released him without harm. No fish photos today, but here are a couple of nice shots of the river.

Teton Valley Idaho
Just got back from a really wonderfully awesome trip to Idaho with my friend Larry Roffelsen. We specifically took this trip to participate in the Casting 4 a Cure event in Victor Idaho. This is a great organization of fly-fishing individuals getting together to raise money to find a cure for Rett Syndrome. Check out their website:
Before the event Larry and I fished the Henry's Fork in Ashton, ID and traveled to Montana to fish the Madison. The C4C took place on The South Fork of the Snake. We landed a few fish, meet some great people, fished during a hail storm and saw breathtaking scenery. I can't wait to go back!
